The FreeStyle Optium Blood ?-Ketone Strips are blood ketone (?-hydroxybutyrate) test strips designed for use with the Abbott FreeStyle Optium Neo and FreeStyle Optium meters, supporting at-home and clinical monitoring of ketone levels in people with diabetes, particularly during illness or insulin pump therapy. Each strip is individually foil-wrapped to protect against moisture and bacterial cross-contamination, requires only a small capillary blood sample (1.5 µL), and returns a result in approximately 10 seconds. ?-hydroxybutyrate measurement is considered the gold standard in the management of suspected diabetic ketoacidosis.
