The MediSense Control Solution (Glucose/Ketone, High/Low) is a quality-control solution set used to verify the accuracy of FreeStyle Optium blood glucose and ?-ketone test strips and meters from Abbott Diabetes Care. Each solution is applied to a test strip in place of blood and returns a result that should fall within the range printed on the strip vial, confirming that the meter and strips are working correctly across both low and high analyte ranges. Use of the control is recommended when opening a new strip vial, after dropping the meter, or whenever results do not match how the user feels. Compatible with the FreeStyle Optium meter system; Not for injection or oral use.
